About me
My name is Josh Talmud. I’ve been working in the food industry for more than 20 years, managing kitchens, developing menus and learning to cook the food I love to eat. I initially learnt the trade at Melrose and Morgan, a well-known British grocers, where, working alongside incredible chefs, I acquired a love and respect for high quality ingredients cooked simply.
I then spent a year in a camper van travelling around Europe with my family, getting inspired by the wonderful tastes and smells of the Mediterranean.
On my return to London I was lucky enough to join Ottolenghi alumnus Josh Katz helping him to open his first restaurant, Berber & Q. Shortly after we opened Shawarma Bar in Clerkenwell and Carmel in Queens Park where we focused on live fire cooking and the vibrant flavours of North Africa and the Eastern Med.
A few years ago I decided to go it alone, cooking the food I love for private parties and events. I love sharing my food with people and helping to make events really memorable. I can cater for anything from a 6 to 50 person dinner party or a buffet for 15-100 guests. You can find out more about my catering menus here.
I’ve also spent the last year cooking and delivering a vegetarian set menu on a weekly basis around my neighbourhood, Kensal Rise, but have decided to stop that and focus on event catering. However feel free to get in touch if you would like to find out more about my private chef service.
I hope I can cook for you.
